It was quite some time ago
That I sat upon Your knee
The troubles in my world
Were just too much for me
I leaned my head against Your chest
I found such comfort there

Yet all the while my heart's desire, the deep longing of my soul
Was to find that special someone who could, in God, make life whole
Someone who could touch my heart and reach me deep inside
Who would love and understand me and by my side, abide
A someone I could hold in my arms and whisper to, sweet delights
Who would be my constant companion through all my days and nights
Could such a person really exist, do I dare even hope it's true?

My heart has changed, my focus too, no longer do I want for me
All the things I longed and hoped for, I can now so clearly see
