Keeping it Real (a work in progress)

2Ti 3:16  All Scripture is God-breathed, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,
2Ti 3:17  that the man of God may be perfected, thoroughly furnished to every good work.
I am seeing more and more of doctrine, songs and beliefs that do not line up with Scripture. There seems to be a ready acceptance in some circles of doctrine that falls short of the truth. I hope to address some of those issue on this page by applying doctrine from Scripture.
The Pentecostal Church by all accounts seem to think they have "made it" but seem to miss the point that the picture of the Pentecostal Church shown in the Exodus is a Wilderness experience. There is more to come!

Claiming Scripture is something taught in some churches as being a viable practice, but is not supported Scripturally. The Bible teaches us that we need to hear what He is saying to us.

Prophesying over family/friends/situations without God giving you that prophetic message. A dangerous practice that comes with a serious warning,
Ezekiel 13: NIV. "Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel who are now prophesying. Say to those who prophesy out of their own imagination: `Hear the word of the LORD! This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the foolish prophets who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

Applying Faith. First ask, where does faith come from? The answer, according to Scripture, comes from hearing the Word of God, who is Jesus (Jn 1:1, Heb 4:12, Rev 19:13). So when Jesus tells you something, you can totally believe Him. He may speak to you through the small still voice of the Holy Spirit, through quickening a verse of Scripture to you, by audibly speaking to you, or by some other method, but it needs to come from Him and not our desires or imagination.

Pronouncing Healing. I have seen this fail so many times. Scripture tells us that all authority was given to the disciples before they went out on their mission. Shouldn't we also wait for that authority to be given to us if that is God's desire for us, instead of presuming it is ours just because it happened to the disciples?
The Catholic Church
You shall call no man Father but Me2. You shall make no idols Bible reference - Exodus 20:4-6: “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”

There is one intercessor between God and Man, the Lord Jesus Christ. Praying to, or receiving revelation from Mary is not Scripturally correct and should be avoided. Mary, blessed above all, is not God.
