My Father's Knee

In my early Christian days I had a day when everything seemed too much for me and I sat at my dining table with my head rested on my arms. All of a sudden I found myself on His knee..

Back to Poems

My Father's Knee

It was quite some time ago
That I sat upon Your knee
The troubles in my world
Were just too much for me

I leaned my head against Your chest
I found such comfort there
Knowing that You understood
Knowing that You care

Your loving arms around me
Held me so secure
My troubles seemed to melt away
I knew I could endure

I learned a valuable lesson then
I learned You know me well
And that You really care for me
Much more than I could tell

As I’ve fallen into step with You
Walking along Your way
The fellowship we share
Grows sweeter day by day
